Today is the last day of computer applications, i have finished a couple of movies this semester, i have worked on my first movie with Marton, which was the mirror effect, then we worked on a movie called "The Chase" using after effects for shots and blood. We tried using the green screen so we could make Charles jump from a high roof, it sort of worked, you can see it at the end of the movie. I then moved into green foot and i tried completing the first chapter but i did not like it, so i tried making a video like the annoying orange on youtube but interpreting Star Wars, i used Charles as my model but it did not work out because there was his mouth was moving too much so i could not put it on the fruit. I started stop motion with Lego i completed about 30 seconds of the video but it got very hard so i just decided to make another movie with some friends. I finished the movie last week and ended up looking pretty good but there could be some things changed, (i learned a lot from my mistakes). The movie was pretty long so i made a trailer of it on Imovie. I have the video on a computer at home so i will post it on the blog as soon as i export it.

Has the atmosphere in the class changed during the course? How has it changed?	It didnt really change, the only thing is that people knew there work better than last quarter
What advice can you give to students who are about to start on the module that you are just finishing? What can you say that would help them have a more effective learning experience?	following the tutorials on youtube, that freddiew makes, they are very good and they teach you how to make great things.
This course provided you with an opportunity to extend your knowledge skills and understanding in areas that you have chosen. Chose and describe, one significant area of knowledge or skill or understanding than you gained from this course.	i understand much better how video editing works, if i start using any other new video editing program i would be able to learn how to use it much faster.
This course also provided you with the opportunity to manage your own learning. Today i nearly finished my movie, i had a problem because this weekend i moved all my files around, because i was organazing my computer, and then realized the movie files could not be moved so the program could not read them, so what i did was move them back and thats it. I also chose the song which fits the video. By the end of next class ill be done with it.

In the past few days i started working on a movie with fruits, something to do with the annoying orange but it star wars, interpreting when darth vader tells luke he is his father, i worked on it for a couple of lessons but it did not work out, i need to work on it with someone else for a long time, and most of the people either dont want to or do not have the time, i tried it with charles but his head was moving to much which did not allow me to put his mouth on the fruit. Furthermore a couple of months ago i started working on an action movie with a couple of friends, i stoped editing it because my 30 days of After effects expirired on my laptop, so now i decided to finish the editing in this class and make the movie look better than i was working on it before.

Last class i started working on greenfoot, i liked it but it got really complicated so i didnt enjoy it as much so i decided to start stop motion videos, i started a lego stop motion video at home but it is the only place a can work on it, so i started a new project in school, which is my PE clothes getting out of the bag and taking a shower because they are all dirty and nobody cleaned them.

What advice can you give to students who are about to start on the module that you are just finishing? What can you say that would help them have a more effective learning experience?	I think that my advice would be to get started with Premiere Pro for like the first week and then move to After effects where you can do really cool stuff.

I think that i deserve an 85 because i am always focused on my work.

Today we did a lot of work in our project. We edited the beginning of our film. I putted everything together and marton worked on making the hard drive move in circles. I did not do a lot of editing, i just made it black and white and made a slow motion scene. Next class we are going to get through with some filming and editing, which will allow us to get near the end of the film.

Last class we were working on a film, we got the intro recorded, but 2 of the videos we could,nt open, so today we had to film it again. We are working on a film, as an advertisment to not rob. It is going to be like a chase with a lot of after effects, Explosions, people jumping high, gun shots. We are going to be using the green screen for this project. Which we are learning how to use by a youtube guy called freddiew. I think he is the best, in explain how to do all sort of effects.

How can you improve your performance in this area? i don't think i can really improve in this performance but i think as i said i could make longer movies instead of short tests.

What grade-in-progress do think accurately describes your overall performance in the course so far? A-Outstanding B-Good C-Adequate D-Inadequate	I think that a B+ is good for me, because i am always focused on the material, and i am improving a lot.
Does the structure of this class suite your learning style? What could be done differently?	I think that what could be done differently is making longer movies, and i should wrap up making test, because i am pretty comfortable with after effects.

this week i learned alot of stuff, i found the action essential packs which allows you to make anything you want. I am focusing on shooting, and recieving shots, i am now learning how to do shoot someone and making the blood, i also found out how to make explisions and grenades. For the next couple of weeks, me and Marton will make a Chase where there will be shooting and explosions....

Today i tried working on shooting a real gun (fake gun) it took me a while to manage to have it however i had a bit of problems on the audio. But i will fix it next class. I am also having some trouble in exporting files, for some reason they export in bad quality. Next class i will play a bit on exporting files. Furthermore our next big project (me and Marton) we wont to work on a movie, a chase down, with shooting and fighting. Next class i will work a bit more on the gun shooting, and on exporting files

Today we tried doing the mirror video again, it did not work properly, because we don't have the proper tools. however next class we are going to start a new projects, we want to do like a run out, with shooting and lasers.

Today we shoot another video and worked on doing 2 different people in the mirror, however we had problems doing it because we were not sure how to film it properly, the person acting has to stand in a specific place, but we do not know where the place is. Furthermore next class we are going to shoot it again, and we will look through the tutorial properly, so we'll know how to film it in a proper place.

Today Marton and me took a video, we are working on making a ghost on the mirror, we succeeded and we made it on After effects, but we filmed it a bit wrong. So what we are going to do next class is we are going to film it again, but properly and edited (which we now found out how to edited on after effects) and make a good "scary video"

Today i worked on after effects, it is a confusing program, but looking well through the tutorial helps you a lot. I went through the atomic learning tutorial and i learned how to make new compositions and edit videos. However the Atomic learning tutorial only has CS4 and CS5. When the school computer has CS3. Furthermore i have tried to go through Video Copilot, a different tutorial on After effects, but it does not teach you the basics it only teaches you how to do explosions, change sky and stuff like this. Next class i will finish the tutorial and make a video of the mirror. Making two different persons on the mirror. Because i found a good tutorial on Video Copilot if how to do it.

Today i finished the Tutorial for Premiere pro, i pretty much understood everything. Furthermore i started working in After effects, i got through the beggining of the tutorial. Next class i will keep on working on After Effects tutorial, and try to finish it, to start my own project.

Today i have kept on working on Atomic learning, i have gone through a lot of it, and have learned many things you can do on Elements Pro. Furthermore i have not understood properly the part with the playback, i tried doing it but it did not recorded. I also had trouble uploading a video, i was not able to download one from my computer, i had to find one that was already in the computer. Furthermore next lesson i will still work on Atomic learning, , it will be easier for me because i already worked with premiere elements, and elements pro is just a bit different. Furthermore once i am comfortable with Elements Pro i want to work on After effects, i really want to learn how to use this program, and make different effects. This will be my goal for the end of the year.

Today i worked on Adobe Premiere Pro, i have followed a tutorial on atomic learning. I already have experience with this kind of programs, because i have used Adobe Premiere Elements a lot. Premiere Pro is similar to Elements, but better, there is much more settings on Premiere Pro. I have looked through the beginner tutorials, which i think i could of have found by my self (because its similar to Elements). Furthermore i want to get started with after effects, because i'm pretty much comfortable with Adobe Premieres, and i want to use After effects. I will have to go through the tutorials because i have never used it before.

When did you come to AIS?	i came to AIS in 2010
Where were you in school before AIS? For how long? Was the school a one-to-one laptop school?	I was in a British international school in Shanghai, no it was not a one to one school, it was a paper school we used books.
What computer/technology courses have you taken previously?	i took ICT in my previous school, they showed you how to use computers. last year i also took a course in AIS which helped you improve your typing and computer skills.
How much time do you spend on the computer at home on a typical school day? What are the three most common applications that you use?	About 2-3 hours, i use, power point presentation, microsoft word, and movie maker.
What is your typing speed. Usehttp://www.typingtest.com/ to find out. Do a few tests to warm up.	55 words per minute
Do you need to look at the keyboard when you type? How many fingers do you use? Do you make a lot of mistakes? Are you satisfied with your keyboarding performance?	I look at the keyboard when every couple of words, i use all my fingers, if i type fast then i usually make some mistakes. i am satisfied with my performance. I am able to type fast, with no problems.
Information Technology How would you rate yourself as an information technology user. Which of the following best describe you. What would you add to give a more complete picture of your IT usage? A. I use IT all the time. I'm a very confident and competent user who can figure out how to solve pretty much anything. I like to experiment with new applications. B. I use IT when I need to use it. I see myself as competent and confident in the areas that I need. I have no real interest in spending time with IT unless it serves my needs. C. I tend to lack confidence with IT. My experience is a bit limited and I feel that I have quite a lot to learn.	I think that i am B because i am pretty confident with my work, and i know what i am doing when using technology.

I have no experience with computer science. I don't think that i'm interested in computer science, i am more interested in video production, digital arts.

Yes i do see my self creative, i have been enrolled in Digital photography which i have enjoyed using Adobe Photoshop. i have also used Audacity for some projects, and i have Adobe Premiere installed in my laptop because i enjoy making videos. I used Google Sketch Up in my old school, it is a fun program but you need a lot of patience for it.
Web Design What experience do you have with.. HTML? Site design applications (ex: Dreamweaver) Web Graphics (ex: Fireworks) Web Animation (ex: Flash) Web programming (ex: PHP)	I have no experience on web design and i am not interested in it.
Business Applications: What experience do you have with.. Spreadsheets, Presentations or Data Bases.	I have used power point presentation and spread sheets, a lot in school.
What other computer experience do you have that has not been explained above.	I organize documents in my computer properly so i can always find them with no problem.
You will be required to keep a learning log during this course. How would you describe yourself in these kinds of tasks. A. I hate writing about what I have done or what I am thinking or feeling. I tend to forget to do it and when I do I tend to be minimalistic and monosyllabic. B. I don't mind doing this kind of writing. I am usually pretty thorough. C. I welcome the opportunity to write and reflect about what I am doing. I see this as an integral part of my learning.	I think i would be a B, it depends in the mood im in, and the place, because if i can concentrate then i can write it well and fast, if not then i have difficulties writing it.
